I ran into the same thing. Had good luck when I switched
from DHCP to a static IP address. Found that this TI paper written
by Juan Gonzales was very helpful in making the switch:

Hope this helps.

[Hiremath, Vaibhav] Let me clarify some points here -

DSS2 is nothing but a simple underneath library which allows DSS hardware
access for driver layer (V4L2 and Fbdev). So irrespective of whether DSS2 fits
into sub-device model I think digital video timing RFC should fit in.

I do agree that, once media controller will come in, we will have to update
DSS2 accordingly. As you might be aware of the fact that, Tomi (from Nokia)
owns DSS2, I will have initiate discussion with Tomi on this.

Thank you for reply.
I posted my problem on E2E but no reply. May be my info might not be clear for
them to comment on that. So What I want is solution/advice, I can provide my
code for simulating. Can I provide my code for simulation to TI for help? If
its paid, please let me know.

Many Thanks,
Sandeep.Yedire

Can you describe your issue in simple terms, we can direct you to corresponding
team directly.

Don’t expect instant responses on e2e, it will be in log and some one will
get on to it for sure.

Regards,
Khasim

Hello,

 We use the DVPB-HD based on DM6467 and we tried to boot kernel linux using the
NFS server. So we used the commands mentioned in DVPB-HD Sofware Guide with the
 DHCP configuration . But when we execute the ‘boot’ command, this text is
displayed:

sending DHCP request
.... timedout!

IP-CONFIG:  retrying forever(nfsroot)

sending DHCP request
.... timedout!

IP-CONFIG:  retrying forever(nfsroot)

.

.

After that
we tried to boot it with no DHCP server using these commands:

1)
Disable the “IP: DHCP support” in Linux under “Device Drivers -> Networking

support
-> Networking options.

2)
Set the bootargs as follows:

setenv
bootargs console=ttyS0,115200n8 noinitrd rw root=/dev/nfs

nfsroot=192.168.1.101:/opt/montavista/pro/devkit/arm/v5t_le/target,
nolock

mem=120Msetenv
bootcmd 'dhcp;setenv addip setenv bootargs $(bootargs)

ip=$(ipaddr):$(serverip):$(gatewayip):$(netmask):$(hostname)::off
eth=$(ethaddr);run

addip;bootm 0x80700000'

 but these comments are displayed:

BOOTP broadcast 1

BOOTP broadcast 2

BOOTP broadcast 3

.

.

BOOTP broadcast 10

Retry count
exceeded starting again

BOOTP broadcast 1

BOOTP broadcast 2

BOOTP broadcast 3

.

.

BOOTP broadcast 10

Retry count
exceeded starting againI am not an expert in dhcp and NFS thus if you can help
me in this direction I would be very gratefulregards
