It looks nice the https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/1578/ discussion and the possible implementation in drivers/gpio/pca953x.c. But, in DaVinci situation, it would require to modify davinci_gpio_setup getting gpio names from a new gpio platform_device. At the moment I will use gpio number to manage the gpios from user-space. But I really prefer to go to named gpios. Any idea? If a gpio platform device seems a good idea I'll move to this direction implementing it.
