-0500Subject: Help failure to install Dazuko
I am a newbie to Linux. I have Gutsy Gibbon. I will try to conver everything
without going over the top. I am trying to install an anti-virus using some
instructions at
http://allyourtech.com/content/articles/15_01_2006_installing_antivir_with_on_access_scanning_in_ubuntu_linux.phpWhen
I get to :
Inserting Dazuko module into
the kernel
Inserting the Dazuko module is simplified thanks to module-assistant. The first
time y ou run module-assistant, you have to run the prepare. Using the
module-assistant prepare command will download the kernel headers, matching
your installed kernel version, and other files necessary to insert modules into
the kernel. Issue the following command in the Terminal window: sudo
module-assistant prepare The version of gcc that gets installed is 4.0. The
Dazuko installation will fail unless you install gcc 3.4. To do this, issue the
following command: sudo apt-get install gcc-3.4 The system is now ready to
insert the Dazuko module. Run the following command to insert the Dazuko
module: sudo m-a a-i dazukoI get a failure that the module assitant shows the
following
module assistant file log
