Shoehorning all databases into one true interface may be fine for the Bondage And Domination world of Java, but here in the Python community we realize that no two database engines are the same. Cross-platform development and inter-API knowledge transfer are served by having one mandatory minimum paramstyle. Database-specific needs and optimizations are served by allowing optional extensions. IMHO this is the best of both worlds. -- Carsten Haese http://informixdb.sourceforge.net _______________________________________________ DB-SIG maillist - DB-SIG@python.org http://mail.python.org/mailman/listinfo/db-sig
