If you are running on Windows, you really owe it to yourself to use pywin32 for many reasons. https://sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=78018 Both odbc (using dbapi version 1.0) and adodbapi (using dbapi version 2.0<http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0249/>) are included.
