Tempspaces are used in round-robbin sequence, so if you have two tempspaces, DB2 would alternate between the two of them.  To achieve parallel I/O, a tempspace should have multiple containers, and ideally these containers should be on different disks.  You should use only one tempspace if possible.

We need to increase our tempspace to accomadate creating indexes. We would like to create a large tempspace and not mirror it. Are there any implications? Also, if you have two tempspaces does DB2 use both of them via striping?
