that was the problem I had .. but using the "lsof -i -P | grep db2" command
did the trick ...

Unix netstat command will give you that information.Try netstat -a. But
there is one catch though, if you have the service name (db2cinst for
instance) instead of port number as the svcename parameter value, netstat
will only show the name and not the port number. You might still need to
look at the /etc/service file to see that port was assigned to the service
name.

I can't find the /etc/services file on a server setup by someone else. Can
someone tell me if you know of a way to identify the port number DB2 is
listining on. The service name is identified in the DBM CFG. But the port
number assigned to that service name is a required parameter when
configuring a client for remote access to the database.
