Environment: DB2 v6 database on AIX 4.3.
We have a requirement to create a new instance, and to move a large database from the
current db2 instance to this new instance.
This database takes takes about 7 hours to backup, and we expect a similar time to
restore. It uses both SMS tablespaces and DMS tablespaces. We would have liked to just
re-catalog the database for this new instance, but this failed during testing. We now
notice that the name of the intance is in the tag files for the DMS containers.
Is there a way to change the instance owner of a database without a backup and restore?
