Hi all,
I've been running DB2 on Linux since it's release ~2 years ago. In
V6, the db2jd daemon needed to be started manually. There where
several ways of doing this, and I chose to use the /etc/inittab
approach. This has always served me well, and has worked without
a problem.
However, something has changed in V7. I've noticed that after installing
V7, the db2jd daemon is getting started, but I don't know how, and I
don't know how to control it, or the port it uses. More importantly,
I'm now running multiple instances which will require a db2jd to be
running for each instance, so I need to figure out how to stop/start
the daemon and configure it with a unique port.
Has anyone else run into this and/or figured out a way to do this?
TIA,
Doug Carter
