Dear sir/madam,

I already installed IBM DB2 V7.1 on Solaris 5.8 (Ultra
Sparc III) now I'm gonna moving to patch it to 64
bit.. but something went wrong.. Here what I do:
1. install db2 with db2setup and create instance and
administration server
2. stop all instance and administration server
3. ./installallpatch from db2 64 bit cd
4. db2iupdt db2inst1
5. db2iupdt -w 64 db2inst1
6. dasiupdt db2as
7. I read the Fixpack64.readme from IBM db2 V7.1 64
bit fixpack... it then told me to connect to database
but how can I connect to database if I haven't start
any database manager... so I 'su' to db2inst1 and
start db2 (db2start)..and it just got frezze...

then I reboot my computer and then the db2as run
smoothly but the instance can't start..if I do some ps
-ef
it just show that db2inst1 run db2start... but when I
try to connect to database..it said that I must start
database manager (and I think my computer already
start one but it got freeze)

so any clues..?? any experience about patching to 64
bit db2 ??

btw: I'm using SunFire 280R Ultra Sparc III with
Solaris 5.8

any sugestion would be very appreciated...
