Hi,
We're a Windows NT based user of UDB, and we currently have a mix of v5.2 and v6.1 databases which will be progressively migrated to v7.1.
Basically we're planning on initially rolling out v6.1 of the DB2 Runtime client to all our v5.2 users, with the actual migration of the v5.2 servers to occur a week or so later. This will result in our users accessing at different times, a v5.2 server and a v7.1 server from a v6.1 Runtime client.
Now I know that the IBM booklet "DB2 for Windows Quick Beginnings version 7" states that the DB2 clients can connect to DB2 servers 2 releases later or 1 release earlier than the client's release level, but having noticed some bizarre problems when using either a v6.1 Administration client with a v5.2 server, or for that matter using a v5.2 Administration client with a v6.1 server, I was curious to know if anyone has experienced any problem with the DB2 Runtime client.
TIA,
Milorad
