OK, if you are still with me, let me introduce myself.
As you can see below, I work for Computer Associates as a Product Manager for their range of (formerly PLATINUM technology) tools for DB2 on OS/390 (and z/OS).
I am also, and perhaps more importantly, co-chairman of the DB2 subgroup of GUIDE UK. We meet four times a year to listen to presentations and have discussions about all things DB2. Now, until recently, that was restricted solely to DB2 on the mainframe. However, we are now getting increasing requests to expand our scope and look at ALL DB2s (or UDBs if you prefer).
So, as co-chairman I have 'volunteered' to do the following:
- Find out if there is a similar group in the non-mainframe world of DB2/UDB
- Find out if there is any interest in the non-mainframe world in a combined UDB group meeting
- Find out (and this is the hard one!) if there is anyone out there willing to present at one of our meetings on what you folks are doing with UDB
