Thanks for all the responses.

'nmon' is exactly what I was looking for. Appreciate it!

Hi,

on AIX use the new nmon.

New versions of both NMON and NMON_Analyser are now available for download
from the IBM ESDD web site:
http://www.ibm.com/servers/esdd/articles/analyze_aix/index.html
The new version of NMON (V8) has the following features:
Disk Groups - a powerful new facility for grouping hdisks for reporting
purposes. This will be particularly useful for ESS customers who can
use Disk Groups to view ESS performance at the level of the HBA, LUN or
disk bay. Full details in the README file.
Support for Dynamic LPAR - using the interfaces in AIX 5.2, NMON can now
detect configuration changes for CPU or Memory and will update the
display accordingly.
Changes to the spreadsheet output routines to allow full support in the
Analyser.

Best regards

Joachim Mller

Hi,

I have an AIX question. What is the best way to find out memory usage in
AIX?

I am referring to the actual RAM not Virtual memory. I see all sorts of
commands that display virtual memory but I have not seen any command on the

actual physical RAM, kind of like 'mem' in windows.

I hope to be able to see what is available once we start the database,
activate it, and/or applications connect.

Thanks for any help

Aidin
