Thanks for the references. They are helpful, but lack the real world information about using a non-dedicated SAN where the cache is not dedicated to the one database in the benchmark.
When we get the proposed SAN in for testing, I plan to do some benchmarking of databases on local drives versus database on SAN with the same PC on both tests.
