Our client, a major financial services firm, is seeking a DB2 Consultant to engage in improving their DB2 database environment in development and production. The successful candidate will be expected to train staff in the architectural best practices of operating applications efficiently in a DB2 environment. Duties include: Analysis of current DB2 implementation suggest ways to improve performance and reliability of the databases; Plan, coordinate and carry out any necessary upgrades to the DB2 product necessary to achieve optimum performance; Train staff and document approaches and best practices that will allow streamlined software development in the DB2 environment.
REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive DB2 experience – must have a solid knowledge of the inner workings of the database implementation.
• Able to communicate clearly and lead other developers. Ability to document processes and best practices.
• Experience programming in a Java/DB2 application environment.
SALARY: up to $100.00, Hourly
