Our client, a major financial services firm, is seeking a Distributed Systems Specialist with exceptional technical skills in both the mainframe and distributed environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for integration engineering, configuration management, and upgrade coordination for a variety of database productivity and cross platform data access tools, and will be interfacing with both the distributed and mainframe engineering groups. This individual will also be required to provide level 3 support and vendor problem escalation and resolution for all products. Weekend and after hours work are required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3-5 years experience in distributed technologies.
- DB2, Sybase and UDB knowledge, to facilitate natural access and heart beat monitoring
- Familiarity with DB2 stored procedures and SQL concepts and practices
- Unix/Linux script writing skills
- Script setup, installation and verification on Windows platforms/Unix/Linux servers
- Connection configuration knowledge (setting up DNS entries LDAP entries etc.)
- JDBC and ODBC connectivity
- Familiarity with the RogueWave DBTools C++ libraries/product considered a plus.
- JCL job scripting skills
- SMF data collection and SAS programming
- NATURAL/Adabas programming skills (for ShadowDirect ACI support)
- Knowledge of Adabas data access methods (for ShadowDirect SQL support)
- Project Management skills
