Well, I went in to duplicate the problem for you and ran into a new problem.
File | New | Database...
Then select Connect to Existing database
Select Microsoft Access then Next
Yes to register the database for me, and yes to open for editing.
Select a file name.
Save the file.
Select Tables from the left buttons. I get this error:
The connection to the data source "file:///Q:/Corporate%20Documents/
IntraWebBooks/Samples/Chapter2/Chapter2mda.odb" could not be established.
Previously I was able to get past this to a different error.
If you need, I can send the mdb or attach it to the issue.
