Okay, I can go to fix this highly specific problem. However, given the lot of
diagnostic error messages I get in non-product builds, e.g. about the JDBC
driver returning inconsistent type information and the like, I somehow have the
feeling that with the current JDBC drivers, we won't become really happy ....
