They're not imported as linked tables, but as so-called "views". Views are
(concept-wise, and independent from the concrete DB you use) SQL statements
which select from on or more tables, which are evaluated on the server, and
behave, to the user, as if they were tables themselves.
Now the Microsoft driver for MSA databases reports the queries in such a
database as views. OOo never knows that a "view" is actually a query in the
underlying MSA database, this is completely under the control of the MS driver.
Note that the behaviour actually makes perfectly sense: If the MS driver
wouldn't report MSA queries as views, then they would not be visible at all.
