@of: Manually selecting a JRE which has a unicode character in the path seems to
have been fixed earlier. It worked with an DEV300m19. There is a folder with the
greak letter omega in the CW containing a JRE which you can use for testing on
linux. On Windows you probably need the proper Windows version matching the
characters you use. It does not help to just change the Locale of your English
Windows. A bug in the JRE will prevent, that OOo recognizes it. Just renaming
the Java folder in c:\program files does not work because java seems to check
the install location in the registry... However, you can check adding folders
and archives to the class path easily on windows. In case your are using an
english Windows do the following:
-Create a new text document in OOo
-insert a special character, choose some greak (non ASCII) character
-copy the character
-create a new folder in the Explorer
-rename the folder, paste the copied character
