Have a look to this post 'Wrong data type java exception in jre1.6.0_18' at
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28540
(including workaround/solution). Java has become more strict on date literals
since 1.6.0_17 (or _18).

It can also be reproduced with the internal HSQLDB, and imho depends on the JVM
version only.

I think that OOo should not fix this, but users should know the standards.
