Dave,
I just submitted a patch that includes column_info support for
Pg. It's not a 100% completed, but is a good start.
The next (soon to be released) version of DBD::ADO includes
support.
Also, I believe DBD::ODBC supports the metadata already.
I'm looking forward to DBD::Oracle ... maybe a beta Tim?
I modified DBI::Shell::Completion to use the metadata for
populating completion lists.
