Dear DBI Developers,
Further on the long varchar support in DBD::Ingres topic from
yesterday.
I've rewritten part of the code to not need the memory allocation,
and fixed a bug with not null terminating the fetched string. As a side
effect I think I might have fixed an existing (documented) memory leak,
but I'm not sure.
Rather than posting the diff again, please fetch it from:

Since I now think it's mostly stable, I'd appreciate anyone using DBD::Ingres
who has a use for it to give it a test and report back.
I'd still appreciate a DBI/DBD expert checking it over -- particularly
the values in type_info_all.
