But I imagine you've considered those and you want the driver approach so you can implement it with no application code changes.
Maybe this is just me being nit-picky, but unless the name of the driver to call, as passed to connect(), is in an external file, Hildo would have to update the application code file anyway, to change the "dbi:DB2:..." to "dbi:MSDB2:...". Potentially the same amount of work. -- Darren Duncan
