I don't think it was an egregious error - if an error at all.  It was
a borderline case.  I can see Tim's point; I can see yours.

You thought about - that's half the battle.  There was a separate
egregious abuse of dbi-dev by someone who had no reason to use it. 
Don't sweat it.

If you're developing modules that work with DBI, it is not always
unreasonable to ask questions here rather than in dbi-users, though
many of the questions could also be asked on dbi-users and would be
appropriate there.

Is the question slightly confused?  Occasionally a question is asked
on dbi-users that belongs in dbi-dev, but not very often.  The reverse
is much more frequent.  Outside the DBI mailing lists - yes, there are
sometimes questions asked that belong on dbi-dev, but  not often;
dbi-users, sometimes.

If posted only to the poop-group, they  won't be seen by me.  What is
it, and why should I even want to think about the possibility of
subscribing?  Using dbi-users is reasonable; I'd be surprised if any
DBD developers were not also subscribed to dbi-users.
