Testing with RH lunix Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-54 and perl 5.8
Ran Perl Makefile.PL but with this warning
*** You are using a perl configured with threading enabled.
*** You should be aware that using multiple threads is
*** not recommended for production environments.
*** Note:
The optional PlRPC-modules (RPC::PlServer etc) are not installed.
If you want to use the DBD::Proxy driver and DBI::ProxyServer
modules, then you'll need to install the RPC::PlServer, RPC::PlClient,
Storable and Net::Daemon modules. The CPAN Bundle::DBI may help you.
You can install them any time after installing the DBI.
You do *not* need these modules for typical DBI usage.
Your perl was compiled with gcc (version 3.2.3 20030502 ()), okay.
Then I did the make
and got this
gcc -c -D_REENTRANT -D_GNU_SOURCE -DTHREADS_HAVE_PIDS -DDEBUGGING
-fno-strict-aliasing
-I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64
-I/usr/include/gdbm
-O2 -g -pipe -march=i386 -mcpu=i686 -DVERSION=\"1.55\" -DXS_VERSION=\"1.55\"
-fPIC
"-I/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/CORE" -W -Wall -Wpointer-arith
-Wbad-function-cast -Wno-comment -Wno-sign-compare -Wno-cast-qual
-Wmissing-noreturn
-Wno-unused-parameter DBI.c
DBI.xs: In function `XS_DBI_dispatch':
DBI.xs:2934: warning: int format, pointer arg (arg 6)
DBI.xs:2969: warning: int format, pointer arg (arg 7)
and then the usual Manifying stuff
Then I ran
make test
It seemed to thorw a number of utf8 errors (more than I expected)
and at the test I got this
t/zvxgp_85gofer...........ok 161/0# Looks like you failed 3 tests of 161.
t/zvxgp_85gofer...........dubious
Test returned status 3 (wstat 768, 0x300)

okay.

and it just hangs
Will also try this on Windows today.
