I'm think after something more plain and "graphic".
The core concept needs to work in black and white,
Here's what I'm thinking of currently:

They're a bit rough and there are some variations I'd like to
explore, especially in the "negative space" (to use an arty phrase).
I don't claim to have any graphic design skills beyond knowing I
like something when I see it.
(In this day and age I guess I should say some legal mumbo jumbo like
copyright to, er, me, and all rights reserved, and eat your greens...)

p.s. Thanks to Cosimo Streppone who'll recognize elements from a
sketch he sent me a while ago (the use of arrows and the database
flowchart symbol) albeit in quite a different form.
