The oddly named "MySQL ComCon Europe" conference will take place in Frankfurt in November: http://mysqlcomconeurope.com/
I'll be presenting my Advanced DBI tutorial on the pre-conference workshop day. I think it's the first time I've presented it in Europe. I hope to see some of you there. Tim. p.s. Here's the marketing blurb: >From November 8th to 10th, some of MySQL's core developers and key community members are getting together in Frankfurt for the MySQL ComCon Europe. The ComCon seeks to mix the vigor and excitement of a community event (like LinuxTag) with a strong focus on the issues that matter to companies and consultants. The ComCon is a sister event of of the International PHP Conference - registration for either event allows the attendees to sit in on any session for either conference. There will be sessions on key new MySQL technologies like MySQL Cluster and MaxDB, and on new features like Subqueries, Views, Stored procedures and XA (distributed transactions). Additionally, core developers like Heikki Tuuri (Lead InnoDB Developer) and Georg Richter (Developer of the new PHP MySQL extension) will have sessions to bring attendees up-to-date on the work on these technologies. See the MySQL ComCon website for more details on sessions. For attendees who want a more detailed view of some technologies, there is a day of pre-conference power workshops, including high-quality workshops by core Perl DBD developer Tim Bunce on Advanced Perl DBI and a Connector/J workshop by MySQL JDBC driver (MySQL Connector/J) core developer Mark Matthews. For a complete list of workshops and rates, visit the MySQL ComCon website. Additionally, MySQL Certification Manager Carsten Pedersen will be on-site to deliver a session on getting the most from MySQL certification (and other certifications) and to offer MySQL certification exams to conference attendees at a discounted rate of 125 Euros.
