Think of both DBI and DBD as client access tools. You do not need to put any DBI or DBD (or perl, for that matter) stuff on the DB server, unless of course you plan to run DBI perl programs on that server. Judging from the log file you sent, you are getting AIX-specific errors, so should read any and all appropriate README files. Specifically, look at README.aix. One thing it mentions (and I know this comes up a lot on the Solaris platform) is that you must use the same C compiler that was used to compile your perl installation. This may mean that you will need to recompile your installation of perl (or install a new instance of perl). I've never actually worked with AIX, so can't say anything more specific. -Chris
