Hi,

After upgrading my Debian Linux from stable (woody) to testing distribution (sarge), and hence upgrading perl, DBI and DBD, I'm experiencing that large numeric values (17 digits) that previously was returned as strings, suddenly have become floats.

This stops my perl scripts from working. (I've seen that one person previously reported the same problem in this mailing list. However upgrading hasn't helped me yet:))
(http://coding.derkeiler.com/Archive/Perl/perl.dbi.users/2004-06/0125.html)

I'm using Debian and Sybase ASE 12.5.

My current setup:
# perl -MDBI -e 'DBI->installed_versions'

Perl            : 5.008004    (i386-linux-thread-multi)
OS              : linux       (2.6.8-1-686)
DBI             : 1.43
DBD::mysql   : 2.9003
DBD: ybase   : 1.00
DBD: ponge  : 11.10
DBD: roxy     : 0.2004
DBD::File        0.31
DBD::ExampleP: 11.12
DBD: BM        : 0.02

Any tips are greatly appreciated. Regards, Petter Mosebekk
