I see. But I think this case has 'something' else. The output is
almost the same (just one call less only) for
while(my $ref = $sth->fetch) {
}
and the table is only around 8200 records. It's the same program that
behaves very different from HP-UX 10.20 to Solaris 2.6.
Anyways, I have good news: our new Sun-Fire 890 have arrived. That old
HP 9000 will soon run Debian.
