Hallo,

thank you for the patch and your helpful information.
I had some problems to get it from your link via svn, because we use a proxy.
After a lot of trouble I've got it. Therefore my late response.

But now to the patch you made available for me.
I could execute the perl Makefile.pl without significant problems.
However the make itself brings an error you can see below.

    [/tmp/dbd]$ make
    cp Oracle.pm blib/lib/DBD/Oracle.pm
    cp oraperl.ph blib/lib/oraperl.ph
    cp dbdimp.h blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/dbdimp.h
    cp ocitrace.h blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/ocitrace.h
    cp Oraperl.pm blib/lib/Oraperl.pm
    cp Oracle.h blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.h
    cp lib/DBD/Oracle/Object.pm blib/lib/DBD/Oracle/Object.pm
    cp mk.pm blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/mk.pm
    cp lib/DBD/Oracle/GetInfo.pm blib/lib/DBD/Oracle/GetInfo.pm
>>Erstellt wird: Weiß nicht, wie
>>/opt/perl64/lib/5.10.1/PA-RISC2.0-LP64/CORE/thrdvar.h mit 'make' erstellt
>>werden soll.. Stopp.

That means approximately in english
>>Dont' know how /opt/perl64/lib/5.10.1/PA-RISC2.0-LP64/CORE/thrdvar.h should
>>be built with 'make'

There is no /opt/perl64/lib/5.10.1/PA-RISC2.0-LP64/CORE/thrdvar.h on that
Location.

What's the reason for that?
Is it perl that has to provide this library-file and because perl isn't built
with the correct options for dbd this file is missing?
But if so why didn't DBD-Oracle 1.24b reports the same problem?

Have you any ideas to this?

Meanwhile I took the DBD-Oracle 1.24b and installed it to perl as you suggested
because we don't use embedded objects.
It works without problems so far.
I hope this won't bring some trouble to me in the future.

If you can give me another advice I will make a futher test to install a fully
working DBD::Oracle.

Kind regards

Jürgen Großkopf

Unless you are going to use an oracle embeded type (table, Object, Varray) I
would not worry about this error.

I think I applied that patch to the Trunk of DBD::ORacle a while back.

give the code here a try to see if it fixes the error
