Anecdotally we have used DBI versions 1.5.1 on AIX 5.3 with perl 5.8.8 and DBI 1.6.1.5 on AIX 6.1 with perl 5.12.2. All were (read: had to be) compiled with gcc so I know its possible. We're also using DBD::Oracle and DBD::Mysql as well with both of those combinations successfully. Its usually a pain to get things to compile cleanly on AIX.
I took a look at CPAN testers and I'll see if its possible for me and my servers to join and send in some AIX reports. No promises though. Eric Bambach | Discover Assoc. Thanks. The last test report for the DBI on AIX was from version 1.609 over a year ago: http://matrix.cpantesters.org/?dist=DBI%201.616;maxver=1 I would *strongly urge* anyone using less common platforms, including AIX, to join http://www.cpantesters.org/ and contribute test reports.
