Hi all, hope you're well. Today's Viva went well. It was only a short chat as I wanted to discuss my thoughts on the assignment that the Viva was about, to write a card game using Java. I basically told them that no thought has been put into how a visually impaired student could do the assignment, and that a choice should be made as to what languages we can use, for example VB.Net. They thanked me for the suggestions, but did stress that I should have raised it up earlier on. Anyway, I'm glad I got it off my chest, and I don't regret what I said in the viva. About an hour later one of the tutors came and had a chat today regarding the future of my studies. It has been discovered that programming-based modules is going to be a problem for me since nearly all universities teach programming in the Java platform. So for now at least, I'll put programming to one side and concentrate on the general aspects of computing, for example networking. Therefore next academic year it was suggested I do a BTEC HND in Business Information Technology, to which networking is one of the modules. However, I will need to discuss my options with my tutor, and this has been requested for when I go back. Think that's all for now. Thanks for all your support, it was greatly appreciated.
