Therefore humble yourselves under the
mighty hand of God, that He may exalt
you in due time, casting all your care
upon Him, for He cares for you.
              ( 1 Peter 5:6-7 *NKJV )

 Dear Addison,
It is easy to let our pride take over and cause us to be
concerned about our position and status, and we then
long for recognition and praise for what we do. There
is danger in that for it is written: Pride goes before
destruction, And a haughty spirit
before a fall. ( Proverbs 16:18 )

Therefore it is important for a Child of God to remember
that God's recognition is far more important than human
praise! For it is written: God resists the
proud, But gives grace to the humble.
After all, A man's pride will bring him low,
But the humble in spirit will retain honor.
     ( 1 Peter 5:5 ) ( Proverbs 29:23 )

     Now becoming humble before God is not self-degradation;
but is a realistic assessment and commitment to believe
that God can and will exalt us when the time is right!
So Addison, have patience and remember that it is
written: Humble yourselves in the sight of
the Lord, and He will lift you up. Amen.
                    ( James 4:10 )
