What if men hope to commit sin?
"And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower,
whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a
name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the
whole earth" (Genesis 11:4).
These men had a great hope: They wanted to make
themselves famous, and build a global government,
global economy, and global religion. They had lots of
self-esteem, but no love for God.
Therefore, the Lord Jesus Christ chastened them.
He scrambled their one language into many, and
forced them to abandon the project.
So much for their great hope. These men were not
great. They were evil.
