FROM A WOE TO A WOW!

Adam made love to his wife again. She gave birth to a son and named him Seth,
because, she said, "God has given me another child in place of Abel, since
Cain killed him."
A son was also born to Seth, and he named him Enosh. At that time people began
to worship the LORD.
Genesis 4:25-26

In Chapter 4 of Genesis, we see that God truly provided for Cain, in many ways;
probably in ways that people today would think improper for someone who
killed his own brother. However, it is the first glimpse for us of God's
extravagant grace - a grace that many of us have experienced - albeit not for
actual murder.

We also see that Adam and Eve refused to give up hope for their own family - or
each other. Many people do not like the modern day translations - I do.
For instance, the King James Version (note that please - version) states; "And
Adam knew his wife again;..." They did much more than know one another,
if you get my drift - in order to have more children, but that's getting
entirely off course (I have been known to chase a rabbit or two occasionally).
What Adam and Eve did was continue to stick together; joined as husband and
wife, producing more children for their God. As a result, they were rewarded.
After Seth was born, notice what happened: "At that time people began to
worship the LORD." Is that not absolutely amazing to you? Wouldn't Seth be
called
- a grand-child?

We all probably know of people who have been through hard times and it was
those hard times that truly led them to genuinely worship God. I know - I'm one
of them. Of course, we also know folks who have experienced the opposite -
right? I've been there as well. I know what it feels like to be on both sides
of the proverbial line between belief and unbelief and one is miserable; while
the other side can be - at times.

Father, again we praise You and thank You for Your Word, for the wisdom it
brings us - when we are willing to soak it in. Please help us be more willing
- without having to go through hard times. Thank You.
