Subject: reformatted poem: A tribute to a Beautiful Scared Synagogue

Oh, beautiful, sacred Synagogue of mine,
Your glory glistens in the warm golden sunshine.
Prayers that renew the body and the soul,
Sermons that help us attain our desired goal.
Holding hands in a circle of love,
Praising and rejoicing God dwelling on high in heaven above.
Community stretching out its wings of caring,
Hearts touching each other with empathy and loving and sharing.
A dynamic Rabbi who reaches out his hand to all,
Soothing and comforting them when we feel ill, weak or small.
A cantor's voice of gold,
Learning Torah, and laws that are more precious than silver and gold.
Long may you dwell, dear Astoria center,
For you are like our mother, and you are our mentor.
