"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
This verse is the most important in the Bible. If you don'tbelieve this, you
won't believe anything else. Let's break itdown. In the beginning: There
was only one beginning. And,according to Bishop Usher, it was around 4,004
B.C. That'smore believable than "billions of years." In the beginning God:
The Lord Jesus Christ planned thewhole thing, and arranged it. In the
beginning God created the heaven: The wordheaven, in Hebrew, Greek and English,
means simply, "Thatwhich is above." So God also had to create one place to
provide a relative point. In the beginning God created the heaven and
theearth: There is only one Earth. God may have created other worlds, but
Earth is at the center of His attention. I'm writing a commentary of
Genesis, and that's prettymuch how it starts. But we have to start
somewhere,right? David
