Hello everyone,

I just had an awful experience and I could not just allow anyone else to go
through what I did. so yes, the subject may sound over done and if you still
think so after reading my message--that's fine. However, I felt it important
enough to let everyone know. Yes, this is about a virus threat that actually
happened to me personally. Please read?

Now some of you more computer savvy users will probably be saying, "I
knew this." However, it's important for all us lay people to know it so you
all don't get stuck like I did.

I was doing an unrelated search to what happened to me. I was doing a
research thing for Skype and Jaws scripts. Well, as I'm searching, all of
the sudden I get this message saying that I have 36 viruses and something
very close to AVG could help me. It ended up being an AV360 set up. It
installed on the computer in no time and then it kept demanding that I
register the product. I was so upset. why would my AVG program tell me that
I have no viruses and that stupid AV360 program say I have worms, trogons,
and more? I got suspicious and that is when I tried removing it from my
computer. I couldn't disable it, it wasn't in the control panel so I could
remove the program, and my suspicion turned to sheer frustration
and panic. I was so upset. I ended up having to do a restore on my computer.
Thank you Jesus, it worked. also, I did a disc clean up. Oh you bet ya I
did.

Now, everyone make sure of what is being downloaded on your computers. If I
as an intermediate computer user can get screwed up, then it can happen to a
lot of other people. So be careful. Listen to the full file name which is
something that I do. If you are not sure what it is, don't download it at
all or you could be really sorry. this is a major virus that mimics an
antivirus program. I did some research because I had to know what happened to
me. I've ran about every scan I could on the computer and that was after doing
a restore point. This is really scary because this false antivirus program
makes your computer make calls that you didn't initiate. this thing gets into
all your stuff and into password protected things. It's bad news. I think I'm
okay. I pray like crazy I'm okay and that all things are clear. I ran every
spywhere thing I had and did another virus scan. I thought that this thing was
a booster to my AVG. I did listen to the file. I'd never heard of AV360. so,
please, please be careful. I just thought I would tell you. I don't want
anything like that happening to other people like it did to me.

I'm saying something because I don't know that everyone would know how to do a
restore point or go research how to remove the malware. I couldn't imagine, my
husband, for example in this position. I'm not sure what he would have done.
You know? He's doing really well with the computer training that I've been
teaching him, but even I was feeling overwhelmed by what was happening. He sat
there spellbound by what was happening. He was a mighty prayer warrior and a
great support. He said that I had a near sailor's tongue. Not everyone is at
the same computer skill level and that is mainly why I'm out here spreading the
word. If you want to pass it on, do so. the more people who know... The better.

so, those of you who know this already, be patient with those who may not. and
this was just an innocent search. So just be careful out there everyone.

Best,
Sean
