Here is a little different perspective and will tell you a little more about Colleen. this is really serious. No one needs to be held back by stereotypes. I'm really angry about this. Hi all, A friend of ours is being hele back by her dr who isn't allowing her to go places in her power chair til she gets more training with it. He wrote that she was blind on her prescription, of all things. The people at Medicaid and Medicare above him have made that rule. They think that "daily living activities are confined to indoor activities. However, to her, those activities .include going places and .having a life. They want her to use a manual chair for when she goes places until she is "proven to be save". Right. What they don't realize is the simple fact that when in a manual eair, yh absolutely * * * no * * * free hand to ande a cane while drighing the cha! to at least see where one is going. Talk about being held back! Wow.
