Subject: reformatted poem: Snow on the first day of Spring

When I awoke on the first day of spring,

I expected to marvel at the golden glowing sun and hear the birds happily fly
and sing.
However, that was not the case, and we had an interesting surprise,
For there were snow showers at sunrise.
Heavily falling from the sullen clouds floating in the sky,

Were snowflakes with a tear of rain in their eye.

For as they landed on the ground,
Not a bit of white was to be found.
Instead there was water all around,
When we stepped into the puddles, our boots made a squeaky sound.

It is unusual to encounter any form of snow on spring's very first day,
But March is a strange month and different kinds of weather changes can come
our way.
Now the snow is gone and the sparkling sun is about to radiantly shine,

Oh, smiling at us with a laugh is our new seasonal friend, Springtime.
