Then they came again to Jerusalem.
And as He was walking in the temple,
the chief priests, the scribes, and the
elders came to Him. And they said to
Him, "By what authority are You doing
these things? And who gave You this
authority to do these things?"

Dear Addison,
By now the stage was set! The religious leaders had
began to plot Jesus' death, but they still feared the people
because they were supporting Jesus! Therefore they
plotted a way to trap Jesus by tricking Him with questions,
and hoping that He would slip up, and thus the people
would turn against Him. However their trick failed! You
may find out why by reading the 11th Chapter of MARK.
Note that each of the days of this week Jesus returned
to Jerusalem. That is because He spent His evenings in
the home of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus in Bethany, just
outside of Jerusalem.
Also Note that the Chief Priests, *Scribes,* and Elders
confronted Jesus, and not the Roman Army. After all it
wasn't Rome that had a problem with Jesus, but the so
called "religious leaders" sure did!
Now Addison, if you are wondering why we are spending
this week on the these events, it is because it builds up
to the Highest Christian Holy Day of the entire year. The
day we celebrate the Resurrection of our Savoir Jesus
Christ!
