Dear Addison,
This verse is not condemning those who love God and
are blessed by Him with Worldly possessions, after all God
wants His Children to prosper. For it is written; Beloved,
I pray that you may prosper in all things and
be in health, just as your soul prospers
( 3 John 2 )
However this verse is a warning to us about the love
of money. For money can take God's place in our lives,
and even become our master if we are not careful! Further,
it is written; For the love of money is a root
of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed
from the faith in their greediness, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows.
( 1 Timothy 6:10 )
I'll bet that you know someone who is consumed by
the power of money, and will go to any length to get it.
Sadly for them the love of money becomes their
god and it is an empty god that can never bring them
peace, love, hope or faith. They spend their time
worrying about those who would take their assets from
them, and truly do not enjoy the real blessings of life!
So Addison, enjoy the things your money can buy, but
also always remember the one who blessed you with it.
For it is through Him that all blessings flow! Amen!
