THROUGH ALL THE YEARS

I will acknowledge the LORD's acts of mercy,
and sing the praises of the LORD,
because of everything that the LORD has done for us.
He has done many good things for the nation of Israel
because of his compassion and his unlimited mercy.
He said, "They are my people,
children who will not lie to me."
So he became their Savior.
In all their troubles he was troubled,
and he was the Messenger who saved them.
In his love and compassion he reclaimed them.
He always held them and carried them in the past.
Isaiah 63:7-9

>From time to time I try to imagine how the prophet Isaiah must have felt as he
>received one vision after the other of the coming Messiah. He hungered to
see Israel become all it had once been and more. He wanted to see his nation
and the people return to the Lord, but all he got was resistance from every
side. Many of you can probably relate, somewhat, to that truth. We know how
life was in our early years and we hunger for the safety that was taken for
granted.

Isaiah was blessed with a vision of Jesus sitting on His throne and was
overcome with his own sinful condition. Then as God began revealing previews of
coming attractions he got excited and hopeful that he would see the results in
his day and time. Well, that didn't happen, but throughout his life we can
know that Isaiah praised the Lord and told of His unfailing love to as many
people as would listen; and some who didn't.

About eighteen years ago God gave me a vision of the church I was attending at
that time. I saw hands raised in praise to God and doves flying all around.
I became antsy and left that church; more than once. Yet, each time I returned
I began to see that church getting closer and closer to the vision God gave
me, but it wasn't in His plan for me to experience it. He moved me on to other
churches where He gave me new visions.

Many of us will not see the end result of our visions or our prayers. However,
one thing we can do is tell others of His unfailing love and mercy. If we
continue to do this we will walk the walk and talk the talk. If we are truly
able to do this we will never hear God say about us: "They are my people,
children who will not lie to me."

>From the time I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and began walking
>with Him I have ventured into being false time after time. I hope those days
are over. I hope that God will tie my hands and not allow me to put on the mask
of pretension ever again. When God leads people into my life, whether it's
for a day or a season, I hope they will be able to say that I am who I say I
am, and when I die my Memorial Service will be a glorious event when God
receives
much glory, honor, and praise.

I can look back now and see that no matter what season I was passing through in
this life - God carried me. Without a doubt I know that you will be able
to do the same thing.

Father, I praise You for going through every season of suffering with me. I
thank You for removing all masks from me and giving me the privilege of praising
You from the very depths of my heart. You deserve far more than I will ever be
able to give You, but for the rest of my days I want to tell others about
Your unfailing love and mercy until that day when I will see You face to face
and sing with Isaiah and the angels, "Holy, Holy, Holy"!
