Monday June 29, 2009 HIS PERFECT TOUCH!
The LORD spoke his word to Jeremiah. He said, "Go to the potter's house. There I will give you my message." I went to the potter's house, and he was working there at his wheel. Whenever a clay pot he was working on was ruined, he would rework it into a new clay pot the way he wanted to make it. The LORD spoke his word to me. The LORD asked, "Nation of Israel, can't I do with you as this potter does with clay? Nation of Israel, you are like the clay in the potter's hands." Jeremiah 18:1-6 I am in awe at a Holy God who holds my heart in His hand. When I sat down to write on the scripture God led me to this week and I came across this one - I became very still. It has always been a scripture with special meaning to me and I guess will remain so even when I meet Him face to face. One of my old friends I went to grammar school with who is now a Pastor preached a sermon on this passage of scripture and I will never forget it. He made the point that God does not have throw away people. Yes, Satan has used us and at times abused us, but God picks us up and as we become more and more pliable in His hands he remolds us into a useable vessel. I know this to be true because in the eyes of the world I am definitely a loser. I simply praise my God that He knows my heart and the closer I get to Him the stronger His plan unfolds. God showed me that for a season, my pot was placed on a shelf waiting for His perfect timing to take me down and use me. It is now that season and instead of being puffed up about what He is doing, I am simply in awe. Are you a cracked pot today? Don't be afraid of the Potter's hands. He will spin you, press you, and polish you until He looks at you and sees the reflection of His Son, and He does it with love. Father, I do thank You and praise You for using me. Thank You for teaching me to step back and encourage others to use their gifts and talents to glorify You. You are truly amazing! Touch that person who is reading this today with a fresh anointing of hope. Let them know that Your timing and Your touch are perfect!
