  FRESH MERCY

"The reason I can still find hope is that I keep this one thing in mind:
  the LORD's mercy.
We were not completely wiped out.
  His compassion is never limited.
  It is new every morning.
  His faithfulness is great.
My soul can say, 'The LORD is my lot in life.
That is why I find hope in him.'
The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to anyone who seeks help from him.
"It is good to continue to hope and wait silently
for the LORD to save us.
  Lamentations 3:22-25

Yes, our God is a God of mercy. Jeremiah knew this all too well. For years he
spoke the words God gave him to a wicked people who refused to listen. Sometimes
we feel the same way. We share what God is doing in our lives with others and
they just sort of nod their heads and pretend they hear, and then they go
on their way doing their own thing.

In those instances we are like Jeremiah. We cry and we pray. Too many times
we see them heading down a path of destruction and they don't even realize it.
We must never give up. We must pray constantly.

If God's mercies toward us are new every morning, so should our mercies to
others be new every morning. As we forgive others who have wronged us, the
bitter
root of anger is pulled from our body making more room for the Holy Spirit to
flow. He then fills us with His power to love the very ones who have wronged
us - don't get me wrong - God doesn't want us to be a doormat for people to
walk on - forgiveness is one thing - letting people walk on us is another.
He really is wonderfully good to those who wait for Him and seek Him. Waiting
on God is worth everything!

Heavenly Father, I lift up the name of Jesus and praise You for the blood
that covers me. I thank You that Your mercies are new every morning. I do not
need to worry or feel guilty over past mistakes and wrong choices, You have
taken care of that for me. Even so Lord, if I have wronged someone in any way,
please bring that to my mind today and help me set things right.

This ends Lamentations - I realize I used the same scripture many times - it
is just my favorite.

All Scripture is taken from "God's Word," published by Parsons Technology,
  unless otherwise notated.
