Love: A Call to Action
Gena Matthews

"So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas,
lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that
I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs." (John 21:15 KJV)

After Jesus continue to question Peter two more times, Peter was grieved and
hurt that Jesus had to ask him if he loved Him. Peter was probably still dealing
with condemnation and guilt after having denied Jesus. Have you ever dealt with
condemnation or guilt after having failed in your own love walk? A wonderful
thing about Jesus is that He does not take back His gift of love.

Romans 11:29(AMP) states, "For God's gifts and His call are irrevocable [He
never withdraws them once they are given, and He does not change His mind about
those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call.]"

Love is an action word. Peter used his gift of love by doing what Jesus called
him to do. Just as Jesus commissioned Peter back into his purpose, Jesus
is calling each of us to use our gift of love to fulfill the purpose we have
for our lives.
