CAST OUT OPPRESSION!

Then Peter said, "Now I understand that God doesn't play favorites. Rather,
whoever respects God and does what is right is acceptable to him in any nation.
God sent his word to the people of Israel and brought them the Good News of
peace through Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ is everyone's Lord. You know
what happened throughout Judea. Everything began in Galilee after John spread
the news about baptism. You know that God anointed Jesus from Nazareth with
the Holy Spirit and with power. Jesus went everywhere and did good things, such
as healing everyone who was under the devil's power. Jesus did these things
because God was with him."
Acts 10:34-38

We serve an impartial God. He is not concerned with gender or race. He stands
ready and willing to anoint us with the same power Jesus Christ displayed.
As a result, we will go about doing good and healing all people oppressed by
the Devil - if that is what God called us to do.

Several times, following my children (not grandchildren) moving out I noticed
how different the atmosphere in my home would be. Then God showed me that
the spirit of oppression abounds wherever there is rebellion. 1 Samuel 15:23
TLB says, "Rebellion is as bad as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness
is as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the word of the
Lord, he has rejected you from being king." If someone in our home has rejected
the word of the Lord, they are operating in rebellion; witchcraft. Therefore,
the spirit of oppression is empowered.

Other words used in the Thesaurus to describe oppression are: persecution,
cruelty, domination, injustice, misery, suffering, weariness, subduing, and
compulsion.
I found this to be true. As I prayed about this and began letting the Holy
Spirit speak to me, He showed me just how this works.

As a wounded child, nothing my parents ever did was right or good enough to
please me. I judged my mother harshly for not having the means to provide me
with the things other children had; especially at Christmas. I rebelled. God
showed me several years ago that I had lived my life running in raging, rampant,
rebellion. This spirit was passed on to my children and came back to oppress me
through them once it was cast out of me.

As the anointing of the Holy Spirit has taken over more and more of me, I find
that the spirit of oppression has less and less power to intimidate me. I
am truly free in Christ! Isaiah 5:7 states, "This is the story of the Lord's
people. They are the vineyard of the Lord Almighty. Israel and Judah are his
pleasant garden. He expected them to yield a crop of justice, but instead he
found bloodshed. He expected to find righteousness, but instead he heard cries
of oppression." Now it is up to us to yield to the Holy Spirit, stand for
justice, and defeat this enemy of the Body!

Father, we need a fresh anointing to carry on Your work. We yield ourselves to
You and vow to stand against the spirit of oppression and set the captives
free in the name of Jesus!
