Monday November 15 2009 LET GOD TAKE CARE OF IT!
Bless those who persecute you. Bless them, and don't curse them. Be happy with those who are happy. Be sad with those who are sad. Live in harmony with each other. Don't be arrogant, but be friendly to humble people. Don't think that you are smarter than you really are. Don't pay people back with evil for the evil they do to you. Focus your thoughts on those things that are considered noble. As much as it is possible, live in peace with everyone. Don't take revenge, dear friends. Instead, let God's anger take care of it. After all, Scripture says, "I alone have the right to take revenge. I will pay back, says the Lord." But, "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. If you do this, you will make him feel guilty and ashamed." Don't let evil conquer you, but conquer evil with good. Romans 12:14-21 Very few of us know what real persecution is like. We assume that when our friends turn against us that we are being persecuted - not true! Persecution is more than a touch of emotional pain that makes us cry. The real definition of persecution (American Heritage Dictionary) is: "to oppress or harass with ill treatment; to annoy persistently; bother." In other words, when our friends stay in our face, call us names, and prevent us from doing what God has called us to do - then we are being persecuted! Following the death of Jesus, all Believers were persecuted, especially those that were closest to Him. Many were stoned and thrown out of their homes and cities. Yet, when we get our feelings hurt, we think we are persecuted. God's Word tells us that when these things happen we are to rejoice! Instead, we take a trip to "Pity City" and try to get a bunch of people to go with us. I know folks, I have definitely been there - done that! Looking back over the past eight years, I hope I never again accuse a Preacher or anyone else of intentionally hurting me. Now that I can see clearly things I have taken the wrong way, I have repented. There have been people and Pastors that said things that I took personally when it was really the Lord trying to talk to me. I think doing what Paul says is a wonderful idea! Let's do what all the great men and women of God before us have done - let's leave it all with the Lord and let Him work it out. If someone needs to be avenged - let God do the avenging His way. I like that idea. I sure do love Him! Father, I praise You with excitement as I make the determination to give it all to You! I know that You can truly work in the lives of other people because I know what you've done in my life! I don't wish that anyone who has hurt me would be hurt too. I simply want them to know You more and more and more! O.
